Samsung ML 2010 Laser Printer

Many times finding a printer for under $100 means it’s cheap and an inkjet printer. The Samsung ML 2010 Laser Printer can be found as cheap as $90. I was looking for an additional cheap laser printer. This was recommended to me by someone who had purchased two of these already. When I purchased mine, it was $100 and a $50 mail in rebate. A printer in this price range is great for personal use, college student or a home office. Let’s examine some of the details about the Samsung ML 2010 Laser Printer.

It has a 150 sheet tray and a 5,000 page per month duty cycle. Like most printers, you will need to get a USB cable for this printer. The first page takes 30-40 seconds for a cold printer. On a warm printer, it takes about 10 seconds for the first page to be printed.

Speed- The Samsung ML 2010 Laser Printer is fast. It can print 20-23 pages per minute. Don’t step away from this printer too long or it can be empty in about 6-7 minutes.

Print Quality- It is great for printing black text. If you are looking to print images, another printer would probably be a better choice.

Toner Cartridge- The replacement toner cartridge is expensive $65-$75. The yield is 3,000 pages which nets the cost to 2.1 – 2.5 cents per page. I have seen online a replacement compatible toner for about $39 which would make the cost 1.3 cents per page. With the price of the printer and the toner, this can be considered a disposable laser printer.

Performance- This is a reliable printer that is noisy. Some of the reviewers from other sites complained about the printer jamming, but so far after printing 5,000-6,000 pages that has not been an issue. It has a toner saver button on the front of the printer. Most reviewers on other sites give this printer a very good or excellent rating with few poor ratings.

Other- This is a small compact printer that is lightweight. It is easy to set up. Once, it is taken out of the box, it can be set up and running in 5 – 10 minutes.

I highly recommend this printer, if you are looking for an inexpensive but reliable laser printer. If you plan to print plenty of images, you would be better-off with an inkjet. However, if you plan to print plenty of text, the quality is great. You can’t go wrong as a second printer or a great starter printer for the kids.
