A Look at Brother Multi-Function Printers

Best Brother Fax & Multifunction Printers

Brother International Corporation has been acknowledged as one of the world’s premier printer manufacturers, combining years of office-product technology with superior budget pricing. There are many models of Brother multi-function printers and facsimile (fax) machines, but we’ve compiled a list of the ones that we think constitute the “Best Brother Fax & Multifunction Printers” on the market. Products range in price from less than £50 to over £700, but the functionality is still based off the Brother reputation and reliability so even the least expensive models are sure to please. Therefore, without further ado, here is a short list of the features and models we think are top-rate.
    Multi-Function Printers:
The Brother DCP-135C is a multi-function colour printer for the budget-conscious. It offers reliability and durability for a reasonable £45 average retail price. This model prints 25 pages per minute in black and white, while colour pages are printed at a rate of 20 pages per minute.
The Brother DCP-150C is another multi-function colour printer which allows the user to copy and scan as well as print with excellent reliability. The 150C model differs from its 135C cousin in that it can print slightly faster, hitting 27 pager per minute and adds the option of a binding add-on for quality presentations. It retails for around £50.
Brother’s MFC-235C adds in extra functionality for a still-fair price of around £70. In addition to colour copying, scanning and printing, the MFC-235C also includes fax capabilities, making it one of the most versatile machines Brother International Corporation puts out for this price range. The performance in printing degrades somewhat but still a 25 pager per minute in black and white as well as a 20 page per minute production for colour is still fairly fast.
The MFC-465CN jumps up in price to around £110, but adds speed and network capabilities. The MFC-465CN also features a liquid crystal display which allows for previewing photographs. Add on an easy-to use operational interface and document feeder and this all-in-one copier, scanner, and printer can hit 30 pages printed in a minute for black and white and up to 27 pages per minute with colour.
Finally, the Brother MFC-7440N raises the multi-function printer stakes even further. Averaging a £280 price tag, this machine is definitely an investment, but well worth the money spent. Increased memory capacity means more documents can be scanned prior to faxing or transferring to computer. A much larger feed tray is capable of holding 250 standard sheets of paper, meaning more productivity and less loading times. Also the MFC-7440N has a USB2.0 port built in and is network ready out of the box. These features make the printing slightly slower for the MFC-7440N, which clocks in at 22 pages per minute for black and white. Still, the extra features make up for the small lack of speed.
